Ruthanne Lee

Ruthanne is a classically trained musician of many talents who is passionate about performing all styles of music. She began playing the piano at age 5 and branched out to stringed instruments at age 7 with the violin. Before long, Ruthanne discovered the viola and fell in love with it's colorful tone, making that her preferred instrument. Since the early days of her music lessons, she has picked up the guitar, the ukulele, the clarinet, and the drum set. It has been said from early on that she can and will play just about any instrument placed in her hands.

Ruthanne Studied and practiced the viola under master musicians from San Jacinto College and the University of Texas at Brownsville where she remained principal violist at both institutions throughout her academic studies and degrees earned. As former violist of the Eros String Quartet, she has ensemble performance experience as well as solo performance experience from numerous weddings, banquets, and other special occasions throughout Texas. She also has traveled to perform internationally in music groups throughout Mexico and Italy. The performance of music holds a special place in Ruthanne's heart and she continues to seek performance opportunities.

High school launched Ruthanne's songwriting status. She became known by the music she put forth for her church, her friends, her family, and her mentors. Ruthanne also composes pieces for various ensembles as well as solo works for the help and enjoyment of others, and she looks forward to the completion of her current and future projects. 

​

Teaching music has become one of Ruthanne's strongest occupations. From group preschool lessons, audition coaching, and music theory help to group and private music lessons for beginners or seasoned players of all ages, she has the expertise necessary to provide her students with the most opportunities. Having over 10 years of experience in teaching individual lessons benefits her ability to fit the needs of individual students she teaches. She enjoys the opportunity to share her love, knowledge, and talent of music with others using kindness and compassion for each student. Performing regularly, collaborating with other musicians, and experiencing all genres of music are a few of the important lessons her students become familiar with when they choose to study with her.

Ruthanne currently studies Music Therapy at Sam Houston State University with a minor in psychology.

Previously, Ruthanne enjoyed working full-time as a surgical technologist in the Texas Medical Center of Houston and loved using music as a means of calming the nerves of patients just before they underwent surgical procedures. She believes that music is incredibly fun and therapeutic, and has hopes of becoming board certified as a music therapist in the near future where she can combine her two seemingly different career fields in an effort to further assist others in achieving their goals.

Ruthanne has an immeasurable amount of love for her family and relishes the opportunity to raise her three children and pets!
